KAINCHI Dham (Uttarakhand): Vinod Joshi, head of Kainchi Dham, a prominent Hindu temple in Uttarakhand, has paid tribute to Apple cofounder Steve Jobs, who died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jobs had traveled to India in late 1970 to visit the Neem Karoli Baba at his ashram Kainchi with a Reed College friend (and later the first Apple employee), Daniel Kottke, in search of spiritual enlightenment.
Remembering the episode, Joshi said that the cult of a Para-psychology professor Ramdas, the Jobs come to visit Neem Karoli Baba, but could not meet him because he had already left for heavenly abode.
"Ramdas, who was head of Para-Psychology Department at a university had come in contact with our Baba. When he was interested in the Para-psychology, he had researched the LSG as well. At the same cult that Steve Jobs had also visited this place , "said Joshi.
Joshi also said that Jobs could have dedicated the logo for Apple to keep in mind, Neem Karoli Baba's habit of handing out apples to his devotees. "The one thing we remember is the logo for Apple is half bitten apple. This logo could have come to his mind as Neem Karoli Baba used to distribute apples to its devotees. We believe that its logo could be inspired by memories of Baba , "added Joshi.
Apple has lost a visionary leader who inspired personal computers and iconic products like the iPod, iPhone and iPad, as did Job one of the most important industrial leaders of his generation.
With a passion for minimalist design and a genius for marketing, put Jobs basis for the company to continue to flourish after his death, most analysts and investors say.
But his health deteriorated rapidly over the past several years, and after two temporary leave, he resigned as CEO and became Apple's chairman in August.
His death triggered an outpouring of tributes by world leaders and computer users and even business rivals lamented his early death and remembered his monumental achievements in the realm of information technology.
